Armed Forces Day at Fort McCoy

Two free events at Fort McCoy Saturday May 17th to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

First is Fort McCoy's Annual Armed Forces Day Open House from 9AM to 3 PM in the Fort McCoy Commemorative Area. Activities include guided installation bus tours, personalized dog tags, camouflage face-painting, an interactive marksmanship gallery, and an obstacle course for children.

Also on Saturday is the US Army Soldier Show at 4PM at the Rumpel Fitness Center. This year's production is called "Stand Strong."

Lake Tomah Clean Up

The Wisconsin DNR is planning to clean up Lake Tomah and remove the carp, which have been eating all plants in the Lake, crowding game fish species. Good news for fishermen in Monroe County.
