Old Fashioned Christmas
If you're looking for a way to ring in the this holiday season this weekend, why not head to Eagle and check out "The Spirit of Christmas Past" at Old World Wisconsin.
Check out the decorations and preparations in the 1870's Crossroads Village and many farmsteads and enjoy the many sights and sounds of Christmastime gone by December 3rd and 4th from Noon to 4PM. Looks like there won't be enough snow for sleigh rides, unfortunately.

Run on Turkey Day
Before you get "stuffed" this Thanksgiving, how about taking a run to benefit the Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA.
Festival Foods is once again sponsoring the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot, a 5 mile run or 2 mile run/walk. This year there are seven cities hosting an event on Thanksgiving morning - Eau Claire, Fond du Lac, Menasha (Fox Cities), Green Bay, La Crosse, Manitowoc and Oshkosh. All races begin at 8AM and end by 9:30AM, plenty of time to get home for the Packer game at 11:30AM

Veterans Day Celebrations
The history of Veterans Day goes back to the end of World War I when an armistice was called for the eleventh hour of the the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918. Today it is a reminder to us the true cost of freedom.
November 5th through the 11th has been declared Veterans Recognition Week in Wisconsin, a time when all Wisconsinites can make a special effort to honor our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, and when students will be learning about Veterans in our schools. Friday November 11th, remember to pause at 11AM and remember those who served and those who continue to serve and keep us free.
Many commuities across Wisconsin will be holding services and parades to honor our Veterans. Check this list from the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs for an event near you. Veterans Day and Recognition Week Events List

It's Cranberry Time
Learn about our state fruit and enjoy delicoius treats as the 39th Annual Cranberry Festival in Warrens kicks off this Friday.
Peruse throught over 850 arts and crafts stalls, and a flea market with over 350 vendors, and over 100 farm market booths. If you feeling competitive there are a variety of contests: Create a Scarecrow, the Biggest Berry, video and photography of this year's festival, a vegetable & sunflower contest, a flower show, quilting and needlework, and more.
But most important are the marsh tours, where you can see the cranberry bogs and how they are harvested! And a visit to the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center.
And the food - lots and lots of wonderful food. Pork Sandwiches, pizza, burgers, spaghetti, pancakes and many great cranberry items, but also Chocolate Covered Cheesecake on a Stick!
