Veterans Day Celebrations

The history of Veterans Day goes back to the end of World War I when an armistice was called for the eleventh hour of the the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918.  Today it is a reminder to us the true cost of freedom.

November 5th through the 11th has been declared Veterans Recognition Week in Wisconsin, a time when all Wisconsinites can make a special effort to honor our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, and when students will be learning about Veterans in our schools.  Friday November 11th, remember to pause at 11AM and remember those who served and those who continue to serve and keep us free.

Many commuities across Wisconsin will be holding services and parades to honor our Veterans.  Check this list from the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs for an event near you. Veterans Day and Recognition Week Events List
